Why do we plant trees?

in Aug 27, 2023

Trees help us purify our air, filter our water, eat, treat disease and provide habitat for nearly 80% of the biodiversity on our planet. I give you 5 elements that demonstrate the vital importance of trees :

1 - For air

Trees purify the air we breathe. They absorb pollutants and toxic particles from the air via their leaves and bark to return pure, clean oxygen to us. Needless to say, without air... we can't do anything.

2 - For water

Trees play a key role in reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. Their root systems filter pollutants from water and allow for more efficient absorption of water into soils. A mature tree could intercept more than 15,000L of water per year!

3 - For biodiversity

A single tree can support more than a hundred species of insects, mushrooms, moss, mammals and birds. Needless to say, without these trees, all these creatures would have nowhere to go...

4 - For people

Responsibly managed forests create a lot of jobs! Wood remains a raw material that we need as human beings. Whether it is building a house or eating fruit, trees are our greatest allies.

5 - For the climate

Trees allow us to maintain an ideal temperature for humans. By providing shade, absorbing harmful gases and releasing pure oxygen, trees can reduce ambient temperatures by up to 8°C! A mature tree that can absorb nearly 10kg of CO2 per year!

It is for all these reasons, hoping for Allah's reward, that we decided to plant trees for each order placed on our site via the NGO One Tree Planted. Thus, each order allows us to participate directly in the reforestation of our planet.
